Christ Church is a Local Ecumenical Partnership formed in 1998 by Little Lever Methodist Church and Little Lever URC. The church building was completed in December 1999 and the membership is currently 125.
Christ Church has an active Sunday School (COSMOS – Come on Sunday, Meet our Saviour) and supports the following uniformed organisations:-
Rainbows, Brownies, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
There are a number of fellowship groups catering from 10 years of age to adult.
Christ Church also has a music group who assist in worship.
Sunday services are at 10.30am and 6.15pm
A mid week 30 minute service is held on a Wednesday at 9.30 am
Coffee mornings are on Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 12.00 noon.
Christ Church is regularly used by Bolton Community education and JIGSAW, a self help stroke group.
Christ Church has a Mission Statement which everybody attached to the church receives on a pastoral care card:
- Respond to the call of God, to listen, learn and reflect His love to all.
- Grow together as God’s family in His love and care.
- Share our faith with all people.
- Serve the community and each other by identifying and responding to the needs and expectations of everyone.
- To reflect the needs of the community in our worship by being relevant.
Christ Church has run a number of Alpha courses and has completed a Disciple
course, and now has its own trained Disciple leader.
Christ Church is located on Mytham Road in Little Lever, next to the school and opposite the Community centre.
