Meet our Ministers:
Reverend Darren Garfield (Superintendent)
Pastoral Oversight of: Boothstown Methodist Church, Boothstown Methodist Primary School, Christ Church Little Lever and St Andrew’s Methodist Primary School (Walkden)
Unbelievably now in my fourth circuit appointment (I started very young, and still am!) I have worked as a minister in the Midlands, Yorkshire and now the other side of the Pennines. I have pastoral responsibility for Boothstown and Christ Church, Little Lever. I am also the chaplain at Boothstown and St Andrew’s Methodist Primary Schools and am enjoying leading assemblies and spending time with staff and pupils. I am using my musical gifts in the local churches and school, such as writing musicals, and spending more time being with people and leading worship.
I enjoy walking, reading, drinking coffee and playing music – and spending as much time as time allows with my family.
Reverend Stuart Wild
Pastoral oversight of: Kearsley Mount Methodist Church, Trinity Church Farnworth, Wharton & Cleggs Lane Church & Community Centre (Little Hulton) and Worsley Road North Methodist Church (Walkden).
Reverend Jane Greenhalgh (Anglican Colleague)
Pastoral Oversight of: St Catherine’s LEP in Highfield
I am the Associate Rector in the Seven Saints Parish (Church of England) and I have particular responsibility for St Catherine’s church which is a Local Ecumenical Partnership with the Methodist Church. Because of the joint working at St Catherine’s I became an AP in 2015. I became an Ordained Local Minister in 2011 and so ministered in a voluntary capacity alongside my full-time career in special needs housing. I made the switch to full time ministry in 2015.
When time permits I enjoy singing, reading and travelling.
Reverend Thandeka (Casey) Sibanda
I’m a Presbyter for the Methodist churches of Farnworth and Worsley Circuit. I have lived in Kearsley for more than 11 years and have become very involved with the community. I am very passionate about children, youth, young mums and also our elderly and vulnerable within the communities. I would like to work and support them in every way I can
l love encouraging the young to grow well in their faith as they are our future generation.
The thing I love the most is to encourage justice, peace and releasing others into an exciting and biblical understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus and what we can accomplish. I care for people with the love of Jesus. My desire is to see others happier, respected and valued – it brings joy into my heart.
WE GIVE GOD THANKS IN EVERYTHING, TO GOD BE GLORY
